Hi everyone
and welcome to our new students. We will take a little bit of time to get to know you tomorrow and to introduce ourselves!!
I for one am really looking forward to us getting back into our massage classroom - heaps to do tomorrow and the next day. Wednesday June 3rd and Thursday June 4th 9am - 4.30pm. Rm H602.
Make sure you have:
Your towels your oils your notebook and your hands and mind....
We will be doing some review - draping and bolstering with a physiologist approach to endangerment sites and considerations leading into the review of back strokes.
I fully intend that by the end of the next two days you will know how to:
Massage backs necks shoulders arms and at least the posterior leg and buttock region.
If you have time tonight - have a look through your anatomy charts , Salvo pp401 - 499. No you do not have to have all those terms remembered by tomorrow - it is a familiarity exercise only - we need to know the shape and location of the muscles. This will really help with learning the names and function.
Remember that study groups mnemonics and repetition are key ways of learning the names of the muscles and joints. It is great to start now so by the time you get to your anatomy course you will already know heaps!!
Towards the end of day 2 we will set up client interviews and also have a chance to fill the first peer assessment form. I have noticed a few good blogs at the client script so far.
Paul will be available in H302 for the next study skills support session betwenn 1 and 2pm thursday.
Look forward to seeing you all there.
